The main area used for Mail Merge in the Communications Centre where different types of communications can be setup e.g. SMS, email and documents. Other area where communications can be carried out are the Debtor Master File, Creditor Master File, Workshop Vehicle Master File and Contact Master File


Autosoft supply a range of letters with it's software, these are in MS Word format and are located in  C:\Autosoft5\Docs\document.doc. These letters already have merge fields in them, if you require a different letter type, copy one and use that as a template for the new letter.



The above Service Due letter with Merge Fields is one of the preset letters in Autosoft5 located in C:\Autosoft5\Docs\Service Due.doc. All letters are written in Microsoft Word.



When a preset letter is opened in MS Word it can be used as setup or copied and different Merge Fields added. To do that copy the document to a different name in Save As, then go to the mail merge toolbar and click on Insert Merge Fields (the box above will appear), add new merge fields and delete fields not required. This document can now be used from Autosoft5's various communications areas.
